Any resident of Russell, KY can register their pet for Paws on the Ballot.

Any and all creatures are welcome to run! Dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, rabbits — if it's your pet and you're a Russell resident, it's eligible.

Registration is $20 per pet. Every cent is donated directly to [Local Animal Shelter Name]. Your pet enters the race and helps a fellow animal in need …that's a win before the first vote is cast!

Yes, pets must be registered by August 21st.

All pet campaign yard signs must be turned in to the Wander Russell Tourism Office at 413 Riverside Dr., Russell, KY 41169 by September 4th.
The yard signs will be displayed at the Russell Riverfront Park during the duration of the pet election.

Public voting opens September 21st and closes November 1st. Get your votes in before the polls close!

Vote online at wanderrussell.org/pawsontheballot beginning September 21st. It's $1 per vote — cast as many as you'd like for as many pets as you'd like.

Seven! The pet with the most votes is crowned Russell's Pet Mayor. The next six highest vote-getters are named Pet Council Members.
