MOTION BECOMES MUSIC

The name Rail City isn't just history, it's identity. Russell, KY grew up around the railroad, shaped by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway and the roar of trains passing through the tri-state region. That industrial energy, that sense of motion and momentum, is still here.

Rail City Fest is the sound of that story, reimagined for a new era. Brought to you by Wander Russell, the festival is a celebration of a city that's always been more than its footnotes: funky, layered, alive, and wide open to anyone who wanders in.

Rail City Fest is a free, 2-day outdoor music festival in the heart of Downtown Russell, on June 27-28, 2026. Starting at 12:30 PM each day, the festival rolls through a diverse lineup: country, classic rock, funk, disco, and everything in between, right as the afternoon light turns gold and the evening opens wide.

This isn't a one-note tribute to the past. It's a full-spectrum, genre-crossing celebration of a city that's always had more to it than meets the eye. The rails are the history. The music is the now.
